Goblinworks was the developer and publisher of Pathfinder Online, a fantasy sandbox MMO. The company was located in the Seattle suburb of Redmond. It was founded in 2011 by a dedicated group of creative people with backgrounds in tabletop hobby gaming and online videogame development.

Goblinworks was dedicated to creating a fun, immersive online gaming experience for the fantasy roleplaying enthusiast. Its goal was to deliver the best sword-and-sorcery massively multiplayer game on the market by starting with a carefully designed core of features and releasing new content continuously after launch, with the input and feedback of its player community.

Goblinworks licensed the Pathfinder intellectual property from Paizo Inc. Lisa Stevens, founder and majority shareholder of Paizo Publishing, was a founder and acting CEO of Goblinworks, and the company shared the Paizo offices. Ryan Dancey, the company's first CEO, left the company in August 2015.1

On August 28, 2015, the company laid off most of its staff due to a lack of anticipated funding, and announced talks with publishers to continue work on the game.1 On March 17, 2017, Lisa Stevens announced that Paizo would fully take over and continue developing Pathfinder Online on its own, with a goal of opening enrollment in March 2018.2
