Kelim Esteban is the captain and pilot of the River Queen, an Aspis Consortium wheelboat that plies the Vanji River in the Mwangi Expanse.

He joined the Consortium many years ago as a sellsword, and has worked his way up through the ranks to achieve the position of riverboat captain. This has made him a wealthy man, and he is loyal to the Consortium only so long as it profits him. He ensures he survives the River Queen's sometimes dangerous voyages, even if some of the crew do not.
