Talk:Barbatos

From PathfinderWiki

Retcon [RESOLVED]

The god Achaekek keeps his divine realm in Avernus. Although he and Barbatos do not like each other, they do not interfere in each other's affairs, and Barbatos sees to it that the Mantis God is not harassed by lesser devils.

As of PF1E, Achaekek's home has been retconned from Avernus to the Boneyard, and this information appears to be no longer correct. I'm not sure how we should change (or remove) it without confusing people who only have the old 3.5E books. - HTD (talk) 01:01, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Please see the canon policy. I'll excerpt a relevant part of it here for reference.
"The presumption should be that a conflict does not exist unless no other explanation is reasonable under the circumstances.
"In the event of a conflict, the {{Conflict}} template should be used, and notes regarding the resolution of the conflict should be made on the article's talk subpage linked to by the dagger symbol created by the Conflict template (such as Talk:Absalom/Conflicts)." -Oznogon (talk) 01:52, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
That's the problem. The obvious solution is to delete the section outright (which I'm tempted to do), but then where would the dagger sign have to be placed in order to ensure that people with old material will not just add back the outdated info? - HTD (talk) 04:11, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
I researched the subject in Inner Sea Faiths and Planar Adventures, updated Achaekek, Barbatos, Avernus, and Pharasma's Spire, and found a forums post by James Jacobs that resolves the conflict. See Talk:Barbatos/Conflicts and Talk:Achaekek/Conflicts. -Oznogon (talk) 08:11, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
