Talk:Lord Gyr of House Gyx

From PathfinderWiki

Naming convention?

In general, I know how to title articles of someone's name. This one, and Lord Avid of House Arnsen are tougher. Unlike Abrogail Thrune who is technically Abrogail of House Thrune, both of these individuals are referred to only with their full title and never with a given name/surname format. To do so would make them Gyr Gyx and Avid Arnsen which I think it revealing the (not-so-subtle) easter egg a bit much. But it would adhere to the conventions we have heretofore agreed to for naming articles. I will look through the Guide to Absalom to see if they are ever officially named this way. -- yoda8myhead 22:18, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

In all honesty, if they're usually referred to using full titles (which I imagine will continue to be the case), let the given name/surname be a redirect in this instance. Both of these are special cases, and adding them to the project in such a manner shouldn't impact things too greatly anyway. -- Heaven's Agent 06:12, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
I think it makes sense to list something as it appears in the books, and I think we have our answers:
Discreet mentions of words or phrases in all Pathfinder books:
"Lord Avid": 3
"Avid Arnsen": 0
"Lord Gyr": 51
"Gyr Gyx": 0
