"The Perfumer's Apprentice", a short story by Kevin Andrew Murphy, was released as Pathfinder Tales web fiction in January and February 2012 and was released as a compiled eBook in July 2012. It forms a sequel to Murphy's earlier web fiction, "The Secret of the Rose and Glove".

The dead never come back right. That truth is abundantly clear to young Orlin. Resurrected by his alchemist brother, haunted by a ghostly harlot, and possessed of strange powers, Orlin is an oddity—something that isn't healthy in the revolution-torn nation of Galt, where any divergence from the norm can cost you your head. When the brothers seek lodgings with Madame Eglantine, an elderly widow with ties to the Revolutionary Council, they must agree never to stray near her private apartments. Yet what secrets could those rooms be hiding—and what actually happened to Madame Eglantine's husbands?
