Caimans (or caymans) are crocodilians related to alligators, and like their sister species, dwell in wet, warm environments.[1]

Variant caimans

Blood caiman

Blood caimans are similar in size and shape to their cousins, but have red-scaled heads and are native to colder, northern climates such as the River Kingdoms,[2] and Ustalav.[3]

The dwarf caiman is a miniature species of caiman (approximately the size of a large dog) that lives along tropical rivers and feeds on birds, fish, and other small animals. They can hold still for extraordinarily long periods of time, and are sometimes mistaken for logs because of this. They are also occasionally used by spellcasters as familiars.[4]
