- snip* I was very fond of the "link suggest" extension (not sure if that's what it actually was called) that popped up when one typed double square brackets and began to type a term while editing. Is this something that exists in MediaWiki? I've looked around a bit on the website, but couldn't find any info.
I miss the link suggest thingy too. I think I've found the extension, but can't get it working (as seems to be the case with many/all wikia custom extensions). For future reference the extension I've been trying is LinkSuggest
Have you tried this one
on MediaWiki's site?
Any luck on this?
Done. It's not quite as nice as the Wikia one, but it's still pretty snazzy.
This works awesome!! How about something similar for categories? (not super important, because the one you just added works for categories too, I just always seem to forget to add categories unless there is a separate field there to remind me)
I'm finding it works almost too well, in the sense that it keeps inserting the wrong link while I'm still typing the one I'm working on. Is there a way to turn it off if I find it too disruptive to my established pace and workflow?
Huh... that is kind of annoying. let me have a look.
I know it was a while ago we asked about this, but is there any update? I still find the link suggest to be too helpful.
window.QuickLink = null;
to your common.js (ie. User:Yoda8myhead/common.js). Seems to stop it from loading for me in Chrome.
