Talk:Katapesh/Wilderness locations

From PathfinderWiki

Created list

I bring the list of wilderness locations here. I could remove the links and move the few paragraphs written for every entry into an consolidated article. In the case of the X article that will use the name e.g. "Pale mountain" or "Hammerfalls" or ..; do we have to replace the reference with the "Katapesh/Wilderness locations" reference ? One point of view is that is an advantage of the wiki to have any significant word linked and not somewhere within an one page article. :? On the other hand, I agree that a list is not the most interesting read in the world. :) --Dmeta 12:26, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

A second thought. We could eliminate any consolidation or list page and let the articles live linked by the Category: Katapesh/Geography (it is an auto list approach) ? --Dmeta 12:37, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
It's generally considered poor form to link directly to a category as part of an article; categories should never be used in such a capacity, for the simple fact that it makes searching for information on the project much more difficult.
It's actually possible to link not only to an article, but to a section within an article. So rather than simply linking to [[Katapesh/Wilderness locations]], it's possible to link to the section of that page that contains the information we're referencing. For example, the this wikilink leads to a specific section on my Talk Page, and is coded as [[User talk:Heaven's Agent#Category Discussion|wikilink]]. -- Heaven's Agent 13:55, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Request for deletion

The contents of this list were either duplicated by or should have already been in {{Katapesh}}, the navbox for sites in Katapesh, which already had a wilderness locations section. This page is orphaned; no other pages link to it. It's unclear what further purpose this page needs to serve in its current state. -Oznogon (talk) 09:35, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Agreed. I have double checked and all elements on this page are now in the {{Katapesh}} template. That template needs some work to break down the chunky list into different types of wilderness feature, as has already been started, but one step at a time... --Fleanetha (talk) 17:43, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
