An awakened plant is, as the name suggests, a plant that has been awakened—an animated, sentient creature. Most serve with temporary sentience at the will of their master, often an arboreal regent, but some awaken through interdimensional interference, fey spirits, magic, or other supernatural means. They can understand the Arboreal language but cannot speak it.
