Pawainui, also known as the City of Totems, is a walled fortress city located atop the hills of Lakapuna, one of the Rendah Pulu isles of Minata off the southeastern coast of Valash Raj. It is the seat of the ruler of the insular Tau Nui people, and the ancient fortifications that once granted it a reputation as Minata's most fortified settlement have survived many battles.

The city's opulent interior features more than 1,000 carved totemic columns that depict the histories of the city and its families.
