Hungry Bones
Hungry Bones was a kholo1 matriarch who united several tribes of kholo in the Mwangi Expanse in the 11th century AR. She began leading her combined force in raids against cities in the Expanse before dying in battle and being succeeded as matriarch by her daughter Shattered Bones.2
Background
Hungry Bones was first the matriarch of the Spinebreaker tribe of kholo in the Expanse's southern savannas. She engaged in a decade of political acts before successfully uniting her tribe with the Red Fangs and Stone Shapers to create a powerful confederacy of kholo.3
Beginning in 1054 AR, she led the united tribes from the frontlines in a campaign of raids against nearby Elokolobha and Mzali, as well as Kibwe further to the north, until dying in battle at the age of 60. She was succeeded by her daughter Shattered Bones, who adjusted the coalition's tactics to extort protective tribute, a practice that eventually evolved into kholo of the Expanse being hired as mercenaries even further afield.3
