Protoplasm

From PathfinderWiki
A giant amoeba is filled with translucent protoplasm.

Protoplasm is an organic material common in many creatures at a microscopic level,1 but is more well known as the material from which most oozes are formed. While the physical properties of protoplasm can vary,23 most share a slimy texture that resembles the grip and movement of living cilia when touched.4

Protoplasm can prove to be highly and unusually absorbent, such as the protoplasm of soul slimes, which can absorb quintessence from souls.5

The circulatory systems of oozemorphs can contain protoplasm instead of blood.6

Other uses

Protoplasm from oozes has been researched for its potential use in weapons.7 Alchemists in Nex have attempted to synthesize protoplasm from the nation's arcane magic-infused sewage to manufacture new oozes.8

Topology protoplasm is a topical oil derived from oozes that can temporarily grant ooze-like malleability to an object or creature.4

Leather treated with protoplasm can be induced into weeping the substance, making armor made from such leather much more slippery and conducive to squeezing through tight spaces.9
