Guthallaths are enormous stone constructs embedded in the earth that very rarely activate and go on rampages of destruction.

Appearance

A guthallath resembles a giant stone warrior. The constructs typically reach over 100 feet tall and all share a close resemblance, indicating that they were all created by the same ancient civilization.

Abilities

A guthallath has tremendous physical strength and are also typically largely immune to most magical attacks. Guthallaths are surrounded by auras of destruction that physically degrade their surroundings. If their size, strength, and presence are not enough to destroy their targets, a guthallath can also emit rays of intense destructive energy from its eyes. The only thing that can typically stop a guthallath is the guthallath itself.

Ecology

Guthallaths spend most of their existence, sometimes centuries at a time, as little more than ancient monuments half-buried in some remote location. Only when some unknown trigger occurs does a guthallath carry out its brutal duties. Entire countries have been destroyed by one of these shockingly agile giants, and most activated guthallaths return to slumber only after some esoteric condition is met.
