The people of the nearby town of Good Will watch for mortal visitors who arrive on the lake's shores and are renowned for their hospitality. An ancient and powerful cetaceal agathion called Deepseer watches the lake's depths to rescue those who appear in its waters and intercept any evil-doers who seek to cause trouble. The empyreal lord Shei, also known as the Ibis Matron, lives in a palace of woven rushes and reeds that floats atop the Lake of Spring-Thawed Ice.
