Undercommon

Prior to the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project, the common language of the Darklands was known as Undercommon and Sakvroth was a sign language of the drow. The Remaster removed the drow from continuing canon and retroactively made Sakvroth the name of the common Darklands tongue.

This change was not explicitly stated in the texts of Player Core and GM Core, which implicitly replaced references to Undercommon with Sakvroth. James Jacobs confirmed that Sakvroth retroactively replaced or renamed Undercommon in a Paizo forums post.1 -Oznogon (talk) 20:38, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

  1. "Sakvroth was the name for drow sign language, but since we're not using drow in the remastered game and since sign language is (as of 2nd edition) a standard part of any language, the word Sakvroth no longer points to something in the Darklands we can use, so we're replacing the word "Undercommon" with the word "Sakvroth.""
