Talk:Lopul

From PathfinderWiki

Population

Due to the transient nature of its population and in-universe passage of time between sources, it's feasible (if unlikely) that both Murder on the Silken Caravan and Qadira, Jewel of the East are correct on Lopul's counted population.

In Murder:

The settlement’s population fluctuates wildly with the comings and goings of trade caravans, but usually has at least a thousand locals and travelers in residence at any one time. Most of the city is comprised of tents and temporary dwellings erected by merchants and caravan masters, with only about a quarter of the city’s structures being permanently built around the Pool of Sihbon itself.

In Jewel:

Notable Settlements ... Lopul (55,260) ... Most of the city’s buildings are low mud-brick houses, but tents from the caravans that pass through the city outnumber any permanent structures by a ratio of almost two to one.

Our definition of "population" for use in the City infobox doesn't state whether or how temporary population is counted. If there's a conflict, Jewel is the newer source of the same canon tier. -Oznogon (talk) 17:15, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
