Sargassum heaps are amphibious plant creatures made of seaweed that attract prey by emitting hallucinogenic spores.1

Appearance

A sargassum heap is a heap of seaweed infested with spore-producing sargassum bulbs.1

Abilities

Sargassum heaps perpetually emit spores that cause affected creatures to experience hallucinations of their deepest desires that draw them close to the heap. It then wraps their prey in crushing tendrils of seaweed.1

Ecology

Sargassum heaps float aimlessly on oceans.1

Variants

Sargassum heaps that grow large enough to entangle ships are known as doldrums heaps.1
