Siege weapon

A siege weapon, also called a siege engine, is a weapon, structure, or other form of equipment designed to destroy a fortification's walls, break down its gates, or otherwise circumvent its defenses as part of a siege. Battering rams, artillery, siege towers, and siege castles are forms of siege engines.12
Types
Siege weapons can be mounted for stationary use, such as ballistas, or are inherently portable, such as battering rams.2
