Aklys

An aklys is a club meant for throwing, with a mounted hook on the end with a 20-foot-long cord on the opposite side of the club from the hook. The hook can be used to trip creatures not adjacent to the wielder. The aklys is a favored weapon of the Darklands-dwelling dero, but has also seen use by Taldan thieves, particularly in the city of Oppara, who have used them to stop fleeing victims.
