The Chosen Council is the democratic governing organisation of the Arcadian nation of Xopatl. Xopatl does not have an individual leader of any sort, but is instead led by this council of nineteen elected officials, one chosen from each of the nation's major settlements. The Chosen Council rules on all major decisions that affect the entire nation; however, the House of Elders is in charge of the day-to-day running of the nation, including more mundane things like infrastructure maintenance, education, and other routine government functions. The individual cities of Xopatl are granted quite a lot of freedom in how they individually self-govern but all are required to provide a representative to the Chosen Council.
