A fear gem is a talisman in the form of an obsidian gem swirling with dark smoke. When affixed to a weapon, the talisman's magic power can be unleashed to attempt a melee attack against an enemy. If the attack lands and deals damage, the enemy becomes afraid of the talisman's user.
