Godsarm

Godsarm
(City)

Godsarm is a town sheltered by the stony corpse of a forgotten deity who died in the First World, in the earliest days of creation.1

Geography

Godsarm is located in the valley between the corpse's left arm and torso. From a wound in the god's armpit flows the Wound River, whose water is so clean that it refuses to mix with contaminants and actively rejects them. Large-scale mining has opened access to the corpse's left lung, an enormous cavern which became the district of Lunghall, although efforts to locate the god's fabled Heartstone have never succeeded.1

Government

Godsarm's mayor is Libby Apelbayu, a politician who liberally takes bribes but actually cares about the town and wins all elections honestly. All governance and mining regulation of Godsarm is handled from the Clockhouse, named after its solar-powered clock tower.1

People

Godsarm's population predominantly consists of gnomes, who adore their dead patron and claim that he was a god of creative insight who continues to grant it to residents. Despite its age, Godsarm still has the feeling of a frontier town where prospectors hope to discover a mine of diamond or starmetal somewhere within the god's corpse. Most of them end up at the Godsbody Explorers Lodge, an inn which caters to both residents and visitors.1
