The Mutterer is a web lurker dwelling in Egan's Wood, whose stalking and trap-setting talents have made his name as a monster invoked by many of Sandpoint's residents to discipline their children. His notoriety has only grown since the sole survivor of an adventuring party that came into Egan's Wood told his story of being lost in the woods to the town: he half-heard phrases of hunger as his teammates were snatched into the canopy above. Such victims are strung up in the Mutterer's den like marionettes, with some of their treasure still intact.
