Ocean of Mists

The Ocean of Mists is a vast canyon network, hundreds of miles long, stretching across the continent of Asana on Castrovel. It is filled with roiling mists that splash like a sea, held apart by some sort of magic or magnetism. Ships equipped with gas bags for buoyancy can sail on the mist, but the air in it is still breathable. It is impossible to drown or swim inside the Ocean of Mists; sailors who fall overboard have to walk back to land. Some divers explore the Ocean of Mists via ropes without the need of water-breathing gear, but many of these ropes end up frayed and bitten off at the ends, with no sign of the divers, leaving it a mystery about what lives at the bottom of the ocean.
