Palenhyr
Palenhyr is the bastion of those First World residents who follow deities other than the Eldest.1
Geography
Palenhyr is a hillside city located near the Muroko River. For some reason, the city's sewers do not dump directly into the river but stop half a mile short of the flow, where they emerge into the Frenzy Park, a stinking stone corridor open to the sky.1
Government
Palenhyr is governed by the Faithkeepers, whose members are chosen from the city's largest sects. Criminals, even minor ones, are often sent to fight to the death in the Bloodsands Arena, due to the nature of death being temporary for fey; visitors from the Universe often have difficulty convincing the authorities that for them, death is the end.1
People
Palenhyr consists of dozens of churches as well as bright tents and ornate stone buildings. Countless cults, dedicated to gods both real and fictional, maintain shrines and vie for territory and converts within the city's narrow alleys. Due to the divine magic flowing across Palenhyr, it is an attractive trade centre and military stronghold. Recently, it is said that a secret society called the Covenant is working on a magical engine designed to draw and bind a deity to the First World so it might visit its fey followers.1
