With the publication of Rage of Elements, Paizo created new munsahirs to replace azers in Pathfinder Roleplaying Game mechanics. In canon, "munsahir" is the new name for the revived and liberated people as of 4723 AR. See also Rage of Elements pgs. 3, 113, and 132, and Pathfinder Core Preview pgs. 2 and 13.

{{Cite canon change/Azer}} is a specialized citation template to reference and explain the mechanical replacement of azers with munsahirs that occurred with the publication of Rage of Elements and detailed in Pathfinder Core Preview as part of the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project.

Munsahirs are notably an evolution of azer culture established in setting advancements on Rage of Elements pg. 113, in which the re-emergence of the Plane of Metal coincided with the end of their 66,666 years of servitude. This provides a canon justification to continue referring to pre-Rage of Elements/4723 AR munsahirs as azers; mass renaming of references to azers in events prior to 4723 AR should not be necessary.

Usage

Place this template after the first replaced reference to azers, but first consider whether replacement is necessary. No page number is necessary.
