Uniting the Flesh
Uniting the Flesh is a collection of 1,986 grotesque, meticulously-crafted illustrations of anatomical dissections, écorchés, skeletal studies, circulatory atlases, exposed organs, and a graphic encyclopedia of abnormalities. The only written words in this 'book' are descriptive footnotes and the postscript from the author, an enigmatic scholar only known as 'V', who explains nothing about his or her purpose.1
Academic study
Among the numerous treatises and scholarly works that study and analyse the contents of Uniting the Flesh, the following three are the best-known and most provocative:1
- Sutreiv Abdonnovi, Bonds and Red Rivers: The Paths Within1
- Khimeh Asopha, A Healer's Anatomy1
