Velsik is the current leader of the lurkers in light who protect the Lightline that surrounds Nighthold, former realm of the exiled Eldest Count Ranalc. Velsik claims that the lurkers are patriots and do not wish Shadow Plane filth to contaminate their home. Some scholars, however, believe that the lurkers in light felt betrayed when their master, Count Ranalc, moved to the Shadow Plane, or that Count Ranalc took something from them when he left the First World. Any suggestion that the lurkers might be searching for something within Nighthold is met with violence.
