• An army of constructs known as the Oil Nomads attack Three Craters in Arcadia. Their defeat further solidifies the rule of the Smog Lords, and the runoff from the destroyed constructs pollutes one of the three namesake lakes. The since-murky lake is later renamed Oilpan.

• The mansion of Canter House in the Ustalavic county of Vieland catches on fire just before the new year. Its ruins reveal a multi-storied monument of black stone within.
