Arcophage

Arcophage is a magical fungus found only in the Mwangi Expanse. It reproduces by attaching itself to mobile plants, such as arboreals and shambling mounds, and magically transforming them into copies of itself.

The fungus is killed by direct sunlight and is also sensitive to cold and extreme dryness. As a result, it has not yet spread beyond the Mwangi Expanse.

Arcophage can be used to power a magical device known as a protean engine. As a result, the Aspis Consortium is breeding the fungus at Whitebridge Station.
