An attentive mirror is an ornate mirror attached to an enclosing case, such as a locket or jewelry box. After the owner spends an hour attuning himself to the mirror by gazing into it, he gives it away to another creature. That creature uses the mirror to give the owner an emergency alert up to three times a day, if they are within 100 miles of each other. Other means are required to actually communicate with the creature. The White Witches in Irrisen create these mirrors for their allies.
