Captain Saws is a pirate captain active on the western coast of Garund with an affinity for weapons and a merciless reputation. Unknown to his crew save for his first mate Levechael, Captain Saws is an intelligent cutlass spider who was once an intelligent falchion called Throat Cleaver.

Background

After being absorbed by a cutlass spider and taking over its body, Throat Cleaver devised the persona of Captain Saws and recruited a crew under that name in Drenchport. However, Captain Saws's true identity was never revealed to the crew and is known only by the one-armed elf Levechael, who serves as the Captain's first mate.
