Guardian spirits1 are special spirits that protect their summoners. Unlike other summoned creatures, the same guardian spirit always answers its ward's call, and its power grows alongside its ward's. Such strong bonds are formed by deities, powerful creatures such as norns or the Eldest, or by the spirit itself.2
