The Halls of the Living is a sealed vault in the Eoxian city of Karus, home to the last non-undead community on the planet.1

History

Centuries after the cataclysm that destroyed Eox, the bone sages discovered the Halls of the Living, where a handful of their kinsmen had taken refuge and later grew into an inbred but sustainable society. Fascinated, the bone sages founded the city of Karus around it, expanded it, and installed magical viewing and manipulation devices for their amusement.1

People

Out of a voyeuristic interest in things that they can no longer experience, like pain and sex, the bone sages often force the Halls of the Living's residents into acts of torture or erotic congress. The residents have long realised their situation but either have given up escape attempts or enjoy privileged positions in the Halls of the Living. In order to supplement the gene pool, living humanoids visiting Eox are sometimes captured and imprisoned within the Halls of the Living.1
