Princess Iaresa was the twelfth daughter of King Arecbezshari of Ninshabur. She became the wearer of the Apollyon Ring and the host of the Moaning Tears plague, spread throughout the ancient kingdom of Ninshabur. The Apollyon Ring was gifted to the ambitious princess by a leprous holy man who prophesied that she would become one with her people and know the adoration of all who touched her.

Her guardians who discovered her and carried her back to the palace became the first victims of the plague. Over the next year the plague spread throughout Ninshabur. The princess become much beloved after revealing healing powers. Still thousands died. Eventually Princess Iaresa died as well, though her death was caused by a simple flu.
