Kamraten

From PathfinderWiki

Kamraten is the title granted to the sorcerer-monarch of the Tian nation of Tang Mai.1 Tang Mai is ruled by a council of its five most powerful sorcerers, and every five years they elect a Kamraten from amongst their number to serve as the nation's supreme ruler for the following decade. Each of these sorcerers comes from one of four sacred bloodlines. When the Kamraten is then elected, they take their seat atop the Cinnamon Throne and are then able to combine the powers of all four bloodlines, making them exceptionally powerful.

The Kamraten elected in 4709 AR was Kamraten Khemkaeng, also known as "The Wise Tiger Lord of Surat Prakan,"2 who took over from Kamraten Tok Wayra. Controversially, Kamraten Tok Wayra used delaying tactics, political manoeuvring, and outright manipulation to stay in power a full year longer than he should have, a move that has scandalised all of Tang Mai.3
