The laborers and soldiers of Wanshou's Mireguard work to maintain, repair, and secure the dry, elevated1 roads of the waterlogged nation.2

Goal

In the vast expanse of Wanshou's hazardous wetlands, the network of dry roads is integral to keeping communities connected. The Mireguard continuously traverses these roadways, repairing and rebuilding as needed to prevent the roads from being claimed by the elements or other dangers. Their constant traveling means the typical settled community in Wanshou is visited at least twice a year by the Mireguard.12

Structure

The Mireguard openly acts under the guidance of Wanshou's monstrous ruler, Zhanagorr. As of 4724 AR, the High Captain of the Mireguard is Bong Chin-Hae, a principled human known to have slain many corrupt officials in the name of Wanshou's common citizen. However, this righteousness is subtly manipulated by Zhanagorr, as the implicating evidence Chin-Hae receives is frequently supplied by the elder kraken's agents.3

Relations

The Mireguard is invaluable to the people of Wanshou. Their arrival in a settlement is typically welcomed with a celebratory feast to honor and hearten the laborers and soldiers.2 Zhanaggor, the "Divine Savior", utilizes the Mireguard to boost his public image and solidify Wanshou's reliance on his support.3
