Sibella Morond was a half-elven stonesmith who undertook the project of shielding the three water pumps of the city of Kenabres in Mendev. Each pump was shielded with stone, forming a heavily fortified column where its interior could be accessed through well-concealed hatches. The project took three years, and thousands of tons of stone were used to build the rising columns around the pumps.
Sibella Morond left Kenabres well-rewarded for her successful work, but reappeared eighteen years later and agreed to oversee the construction of a fortification for the wardstone. Morond built a huge shield made of stone and engraved with the city's sigil.[1]
