Starlit sentinel
Starlit sentinels are guardians of Tian Xia granted transformative powers by one of the 12 Tian Xia zodiac constellations. Each gains an alter ego that possesses magical and supernatural abilities, and the means to transform into this alter ego when necessary. Only one sentinel for each constellation can be active at any given time.1
The most famous sentinels are an all-female quartet in Goka, leading to a popular but inaccurate perception that only girls can become starlit sentinels. Most defend their communities at night and preserve their regular identities during the day, with individuals choosing to work in secret or becoming celebrities, but circumstances sometimes force them to choose between living a normal life and fulfilling their duty against dangerous threats.1
