Talk:4705 AR

From PathfinderWiki

Because the last two digits of each Golarion year match those of each real-world year, and since Seekers of Secrets was published in 2009, I've assumed that "3 years ago" meant 4706, not 4705.--Filby 05:51, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

I've found in the past that although it's okay to make these kind of assumptions every once in a while, we should try to stick with dates actually spelled out in canon publications. Even so, it's easy for things to get confused, and I've found that dates are the worst culprits in this department. --Brandingopportunity 16:16, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
I tend to follow suit with Filby in this regard and take dates stated in books in regards of 'x years ago' as being from the date of publication translated to AR. There are some times when an article is clearly written in the past when this is not appropriate. On the whole a date calculated is a good thing, especially if we have a reference for it to resolve any disputes that come later.--Fleanetha 16:36, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
