Number of players

There's no consistent published canon agreement on the number of players per team. Mantle of Gold 12 describes basilisk as "a competitive sport played with eight-player teams" and refers to Travel Guide 61–63, which describes teams of eight positions, two of which (runners and strikers) field two players each, but never explicitly specifies how many players a team fields in a match.
