Talk:Imperial dragon

From PathfinderWiki

3.5e name

The Adventure Path #4 Fortress of the Stone Giants (D&D 3.5e) backmatter article page 70 introduces the five element-embodying dragons of the celestial host "of Tian Xia, these dragons only live on that continent"; it seems like Paizo had not yet thought up the name "imperial dragons" at that time. Has a mention of the name "dragons of the celestial host" ever appeared in another Paizo product? It seems doubtful; in James Jacobs's words, old lore as in AP #4 suffered from a bit of a "proper noun shortage" in those early years.

PFWiki titles many {Creature} infoboxes with multiple names, like "Mitflit<br>Mite", but no PFWiki editor has ever thought to write the title "Dragon of the celestial host" into the imperial dragon infobox—which is fine by me. I just want to note my approval of the current status quo, where this questionable name is only mentioned in this article's paragraph text as opposed to this infobox. —Descriptivist (talk) 13:28, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
