Talk:Smuggler's Shiv/Conflicts

Despite the maps being otherwise identical in their coastlines, the scales on maps in Souls for Smuggler's Shiv and the PDF version of the Serpent's Skull Poster Map Folio are significantly different. For example, the scale from the map in Souls suggests the island is 12 to 14 miles wide from west to east, while the scale from the Poster Map Folio suggests the island is 1 mile wide. PathfinderWiki uses the scale from the Adventure Path issue. -Oznogon (talk) 12:14, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- The text of Souls asserts that Smuggler's Shiv "covers just over 30 square miles of land", consistent with the book map's scale. Several locations in the text also have actions that are triggered by players moving within half a mile of a site; if the island was a mile wide, some of these would be unavoidable.
- James Jacobs confirmed the poster map's scale is incorrect in January 2011, asserting that the map is "about 15 miles long from north to south".1 This is consistent with the Souls map's scale, which depicts the island as being 14.7 miles long from north to south. The print version of the poster map is unaffected by this error. -Oznogon (talk) 07:08, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
