Trade good
A trade good is an item that can often be exchanged with others as if it were coin. Merchants often deal in trade goods in lieu of currency for transactions of all sizes. Common trade goods include materials such as copper, silver, gold, tin, iron, raw cotton and wool, processed cloth, dyes and inks, leather, lumber, brick, and stone; foodstuffs such as fish, wheat, wine, and ale; components from rare creatures; technology, including machines and mechanical components; illustrated cards; and rare items or relics.1
