A whispering coin is an ancient golden coin. One side depicts one of the runes symbolizing a Thassilonian school of sin magic, while the other shows a broken column. The coin periodically whispers to its bearer in Thassilonian but the whispers can never be understood. The bearer gains some resistance to spells from the school depicted on the coin. Also, the coin can answer one yes or no question each day if flipped in the air while the question is stated. The question must be related to facts that will affect the bearer within the next few minutes. If the answer is "yes", the rune side of the coin faces up; if "no", the broken column faces up. In either case the coin whispers "yes" or "no" to the bearer. If the coin cannot answer the question, there is no whisper and the coin spins on an edge for a couple of seconds before falling over to a random side.1
