Xhilqua, the Unmatched is the leader of the water elementals who have been inhabiting Aevolar's Crossing, a section of the Southern Usk River that flows through Nidal, since the Age of Legend, when a portal to the Plane of Water once existed just upriver. Prior to Earthfall, they lived in peace with the local people, but when they converted to the worship of Zon-Kuthon and began to practice his foul rites, the resulting energies warped the elementals, turning them evil and giving rise to the rumour that the place is haunted. Their first chance at large-scale destruction happened early in the Everwar, when they massacred a Chelish battalion trying to invade Nidal, and all looters subsequently suffered the same fate.
