- The prophet Kalistrade returns home from eight years of travels across the Inner Sea region, clad in noble regalia with coffers of gold and dozens of writing and journals. He speaks only of his strict diet and personal rites, not of his investments, to curious neighbours, rebuffs all suitors due to sexual prohibitions, and refuses all handshakes even as he was wearing gloves.123 He attracts and teaches his first followers from the documents he wrote and collected during his travels.23
