Alchemists use their methods to purify certain materials so that they can be used in alchemy; these pure forms are called alchemical reagents. These alchemical reagents may be used for:

• alchemical recipes to manufacture alchemical items using alchemical processes
• alchemical power components to boost the potency of a spell cast

Alchemical reagents are sold and used by the dose with varying numbers of doses of a particular reagent needed for manufacturing a particular item.

An alchemical symbol is used to denote each alchemical reagent in recipes.
