Avenger
- This article covers the Pathfinder Second Edition class archetype. For the First Edition hyrbid class, see slayer.
Avengers are rogues sworn to a deity who serve their god in an even more subtle way than vindicators.12
Avengers are trained in secretive cloisters and monasteries that are hidden from the public. They are usually required to take a vow, such as a vow of silence or of celibacy, to inhibit their ability to form close bonds with other people. In their training environments, avengers are taught divine doctrine and learn to effectively use their deity's favored weapon to deadly ends.
Some avengers can channel their faith through their weapon, bringing foes closer to death while making them more susceptible to divine magic, while others can disrupt the divine spellcasting of their foes. The most skilled avengers can deliver a coup de grace so powerful it has the potential to strike an enemy dead instantly.2
