Vindicator
This article covers the Pathfinder Second Edition class archetype sometimes known as inquisitor. For the First Edition class, see inquisitor. For the First Edition prestige class, see holy vindicator. |
Vindicators are rangers sworn to a deity. Rangers similarly sworn to an evil deity are known as inquisitors.12
Vindicators serve as a more subtle arm of their religion than a cleric or a champion; they work to eliminate threats such as the undead and shapeshifting creatures that would otherwise prey on the faithful. To do so, they use analytical prowess, training in their deity's favored weapon, and a touch of divine magic. All vindicators can use their religious doctrine to socially relate to others, especially if the other person is of their same same faith. As they develop their skills, some vindicators become skilled interrogators while others disrupt enemy spellcasters or gain the ability to proclaim divine judgements.3
